Support My Work

Congratulations! You’ve found the part of my website where we talk about my least favorite subject: finances. I understand if you click away now. But, if you have it in you to let me ask you for money, I’d appreciate it if you’d keep reading.

For the large majority of writers, this career choice is not nearly as glamorous or as lucrative as it may seem from the outside. A large majority of authors, assuming they’re not already retired, work a normal 9-5 on top of their writing career, which often involves being a full-time online content creator, being a traveling speaker, and showing up for events where attendance is rarely dependable.

For now, that is also what I do. I work full-time as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Torchflame Books, but I also work part-time as a freelance marketing and publishing consultant. On top of that, I’m a constant content creator and dedicated novelist, neither of which pay without user contribution through the below options. (Is that math making you tired yet? Same. If I didn’t love it so much I would have quit years ago.)

It would mean a lot to me if you’ve enjoyed my work for you to consider supporting me financially even before I have a book out for you to buy. (I promise books are in the works, but until that day when they are available to you, this is what I have to offer.)

All of these things have taken time and effort to set up that I’ve poured into this side of my writing career. I would be honored and blessed if you’d help me have a return on that investment.

Ko-Fi allows you to “buy me a coffee” (see: give me a donation of whatever amount you choose) allowing me, over time, to decrease how much extra work is required of me to make ends meet and eventually allowing me to transition to being a full-time writer.

I have created t-shirts, stickers, mugs, coasters, hoodies, and more in the hope that someone may enjoy them as much as I do. Some are for me as a creator and some are focusing on my short stories. I hope you’ll browse through and maybe get yourself a fun new item.

Bookshop.org is an incredible online bookstore that allows users to create affiliate accounts and donates a portion of their profits to independent bookstores of your choice. If you are interested in any of the books I talk about, want to buy books written by my friends, or just want to do some book shopping and you shop from the links on my social media and my Bookshop storefront, I’ll get a small commission.

Over the decade I’ve spent studying the publishing industry I’ve learned a lot. And I do mean a lot. I’ve compiled some of that into an online course on platform building targeted at helping authors establish their brands. If you’re an author looking to make your mark in the publishing industry, first, let’s be friends. And second, I’d love to help you. This online course or my freelance company, Hanna Book Solutions, are designed to help you.

As part of my merch store there is a collection called the Author’s Toolkit. It’s designed for authors who need help creating designs to market their books, but many of those designs are applicable to non-writers as well. If you’re looking for new business cards, new return address labels, or other printed marketing materials it would help me out if you checked out that collection and placed an order.
